FOR THOSE IN PURSUIT OF A MASTERS DEGREE

This is the first of a two- semester survey course that presents the tenants of psychology juxtaposed with Christianity. Explanations are offered of classic theory and of a holistic Christian view of humanity and counseling.  Areas that will be covered include personality, classic psychological theory, the biological basis of behavior, emotions and motivation, memory, cognition, self-concept, child and adult development, sensation and perception, social psychology, individual and family counseling, psychology of religion, abnormal psychology, and individual and group therapy.

Textbooks:  Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Psychology, 2nd edition, Sterling Education; and Introduction to Psychology and Counseling, 2nd edition, by Meier, Minirth, Wichern, and Ratcliff.
